About the Role: As a Project Purchaser, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services needed for our projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires proactive collaboration with various functions to achieve common goals and continuous improvement.
Based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience, a senior position may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize terms and conditions
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Plan procurement activities and manage vendor relationships
- Conduct procurement and negotiation activities
- Foster a positive working environment within the purchasing team and across other functions
Duties/Tasks:
- Bid Phase: Provide input on estimated hours from Purchaser discipline, ensure accurate delivery descriptions in bid documents, discuss procurement strategy and conduct market analysis, and manage vendor relations, pricing, and terms & conditions.
- Initiation Phase: Prepare procurements and related documents, collect offers from vendors on procurement needs, create a procurement plan (budget, delivery dates, risk, bid date, decision date), and present procurement strategy during kick-off meetings.
- Execution Phase: Facilitate the procurement process and manage vendor contacts, update purchase orders (PO) and prepare for invoicing, provide procurement status updates to Project Control, collaborate closely with PRE on deliveries and Project Controller on status, and work off-site if required by specific projects.
- Close-out Phase: Monitor open POs and ensure they are ready to be closed and provide input to experience reports.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or extensive experience in relevant field
- Knowledge of international business, supplier market, offshore drilling/oil industry
- Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple interfaces and improve processes
- Proficient in IT tools and systems, English language, and presentation skills
- Good stakeholder management
- Have a commercial mindset to drive cost efficiencies and optimize terms
- Technical understanding of drilling/marine equipment is an advantage
